“Find Out Who Your
Friends Are”
You
find out who your friends are
Somebody's gonna drop everything
Run out and crank up their car
Hit the gas, get there fast
Never stop to think 'what's in it for me?' or 'it's way too far'
They just show on up with their big old heart
You find out who your friends are
Everybody wants to slap your back
wants to shake your hand
when you're up on top of that mountain
But let one of those rocks give way then you slide back down look up
and see who's around then
Being surrounded by good friends is
one of the best feelings in the world. Knowing that they will always be there
for you and do anything that you need is a good feeling. When you have good
friends surrounding you, you always have a support system when times are tough
and you always have a shoulder to cry on or just someone to give you advice.
Starting
in middle school, I always had trouble making new friends and trusting the ones
I had. They would either do something to lose my trust or make other friends. I
would go from friend to friend and not really feel like there was a friendship
with any of them. That continued through freshmen and sophomore years of high
school. At times I felt lost because I never had that one friend I could tell
everything to or do, “girl things” with. I was always jealous of my sister
because she has had a best friend for years.
The
last two years of high school were different. At this time Bre and I were
friends, but not as close as we are now. Junior year we became a little closer
and then senior year we became close enough to call each other best friends.
Especially in the last year, she has been there for me in more ways to count.
We have been through a heck of a lot together, and as I look back on those
times, she was always been by my side and a huge supporter. I go to her with
all my problems and I can honestly say that she gives the best advice. We tell
each other everything and now I have someone I can do, “girl things” with. I
trust her more than anyone. Just like the song says, “Somebody’s gonna drop
everything,” and Bre definitely would for me. Even though the lyrics to this
song do not exactly fit, the main point still gets across. The song also says,
“Need a floor, need a couch, need a bus fare,” I know she would help me out in
any situation.
I am
thankful for our friendship because I honestly would not know what to do
without her. Like I said before she has helped me get through some pretty tough
things. Going through middle school and some of high school without having
loyal friends was tough, but I can now say Bre is truly my best friend. Throughout
the last couple years I have definitely found out who my best friend is.

I am so glad we became closer too! When I read the lyrics at the top, I l could literally hear him singing this song. I am also so glad that we have so many things in common, and looking at those pictures seems like junior prom was forever ago!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that we have so many things in common also and that we understand each other. We think the same way about a lot of things! Junior prom does seem like forever ago.
